Turbolenti e al tempo stesso sognanti sono le atmosfere pop contaminate da suoni di fisarmonica dai riflessi cupi e sardonici dell’ex chitarrista dei Fuck Knights guitarist and Nightinghales, contenute nel nuovo progetto EP del frontman Ben Bachman dal titolo High Tiny Hairs (Sir Gregory Records).
Questo EP mette a nudo e mostra le influenze stilistiche di Bachman, vicine ad artisti del calibro di Alex Chilton, Brian Eno e Syd Barrett e hanno prodotto nel tempo una breve serie di releases autoprodotte.
Le canzoni, rimbalzano tra sonorità degli anni Sessanta (Baroque pop) e il nuovo movimento psichedelico dei primi anni Ottanta, risultando eleganti e, contemporaneamente, oscure dal punto di vista poetico, senza tralasciare punte di eccentricità miste a romanticismo. Il cantante / cantautore originario di Minneapolis, attraverso la sua musica, evoca un vago tête-à-tête con i suoi fantasmi.

E’ breve, è semplice, e ha una di quelle basi che possono arrivare in qualsiasi momento nell’arco di una carriera lunga 40 anni soprattutto se e colma di riff di chitarra che suonano veramente bene solo quando, così si inizia a sentire il bisogno di suonarli … “

Lead Tracks: Ghost Shadow, First World Problems, Chaos Ensues
Swirling, dreamy pop hooks accentuated with the haunting sounds of a Farfisa organ cloak the sombre and sardonic musings of former Fuck Knights guitarist and Nightinghales front man Ben Bachman in his new project, High Tiny Hairs.
This EP lays bare and showcases Bachman’s stylistic influences, the likes of Alex Chilton, Brian Eno and Syd Barrett, with a short set of self-produced releases.
The songs, bouncing between sixties Baroque pop and the new psychedelic movement of the early eighties, are mesmerisingly elegant and poetically dark, yet quirky, and romantic. The Minneapolis based singer/songwriter evokes a hazy, late night tête-à-tête with his ghosts.
